LINE DEFINITION:

Lines can have a particular purpose (such as contour lines, leading lines & implies lines) but lines can also have a quality in a of themselves that help them to communicate a message or emotion.
Contour lines: Lines that show the outside edge or detail. A Blind contour line drawing is a contour drawing completed without looking at the paper. Example of contour lines:
Leading lines: Lines that direct the eye around an overall composition. Example:
Implies lines: Lines that are created by placing a series of objects in a row next to each other. Example:
