Relief Sculpture
A sculpture that projects from a wall or background
Radial symmetry
Arranged around a central point
FORM - Three-dimensional and encloses volume; includes height, width AND depth
Process:
1. Review introduction material including definition of RELIEF (sculpture), RADIAL SYMMETRY, and FORM
2. With some square origami paper, experiment with different types of folds and designs based on a "pizza pie piece". Your final piece design needs to have at least 20 individual folded pieces.
3. When you have decided on and planned out your design, you should start folding all of your pieces
4. When you have all of your pieces, start to glue them to your base square paper to complete your mandala
Here are some example folds, you do NOT need to use these, feel free to make up your own!
