NEgative Space sculptures

In this project, you will create a sculpture that features negative space. Negative space is the "background" area around an object. It can be a very important feature in a work of art. This project will be divided up into TWO days:

Day 1 - Review these videos and slides (below) and take a "found" picture of something that shows off negative space. You should not arrange you object, just find something as it is and take a picture of it. You should look for something that is about half "positive" and about "half negative" You will probably need to crop the photo so that you can balance out the positive and negative space. There are examples below.

​Day 2 - Build a negative space sculpture from object that you h
ave around the house. The easiest way to do this, is to create two "stacks" placing them next to each other and creating interesting negative space in between them. See examples below.
