1. Layout overall values, then blend
2. Soften edges where needed
3. Add hair texture in limited spots
4. Add highlights 
Questions for Portrait Critique
  1. Does your portrait have the expression that you were hoping to achieve?
  2. Do you have the full value scale represented?
  3. Does your portrait overall look three dimensional?
  4. Are there any areas of your portrait where your eye gets stuck?
  5. Do you have a smooth transition from one area to another?
  6. Do your eye match and look like they are integrated into your face?
  7. Are there any places that are creating a focal point when you don’t want one?
